Round 16 Results

A mixed bag of results as we get to the pointy end of the season.

Womens 1s:
The 1s have had a tough second half of the season and this week was no different. The Monash girls managed to kept it close, holding Knox to a 0-0 draw at half time. Knox stepped up however, and managed to put 2 goals in after the break.

Womens 2s:
Our 2s have really stepped up this season, working together to dominate every team that dare crosses their paths. Each week a long list of girls gets a goal next to their name, showing what simple hockey and team work can really do. Poor Knox, went down a whopping 8-0, a score board our 2s a getting very use to. Goals this week went to; Hatty Houghton, Jasmine Sylivris (2), Hilary Davies, Kat Monaghan and Cass David (3).

Mens 1s:
The boys got what they wanted this week, getting one step closer to sealing their top four finish. Starting slowly, the lowly-ranked GD Warriors got the first goal on the board but their lead didn’t last long. The farmers put in four goals before the end of the game, with Seth Bucheli and Jimmy Morrow playing well up front while Florian Krettek added a goal in his first game back with the 1s.
Monash now sit just one point outside fourth position, with a favourable draw in their last two matches.

Mens 2s:
The 2s continued their run of good form this week with a 3-1 win over GD Warriors. Sitting in third place and hunting for second, Marty Fielke opened the scoring and Josh Otten was rewarded for his hard efforts with two goals later in the game.

Womens 3s:
Monash was up for a tough match this week, facing second on the ladder, Melbourne Uni. The girls managed to defeat them 1-0 in the end, with the goal going to Jasmine Sylivris.

Womens 4s:
Another win to our 4s this week, this one was a big one. Facing undefeated, top of the ladder, Southern, the girls wanted to change their reputation and they did. Petra Niclosen stepped up and put two in the net for Monash with Meagan Lynch and Jo Renaldi also topping up the score board. The no longer โ€˜undefeatedโ€™ top team went down to the Tambourines 4-1.

Mens 3s:
Farmers lost 0-21 to Camberwell at the SNHC.

Mens 4s:
Defeated 0-10 by Kew.

Womens Masters A:
A grade played short most of the game due to an injury early in but fought hard to keep the score to 3-1 against a strong Swinburne-MUD side. There was lots of attack on both sides with both goalies keeping their teams in the game.

Womens Masters B:
B grade had higher placed Mentone Navy under control and played a tough match. Unfortunately Mentone put one in the goal in the last few minutes and the team went down 1-0.

Mens Masters 35BNW:
Beaten 0-11 by Powerhouse.

Mens Masters 35BSE:
Won 4-3 against TEMS.

U10s:
